Drafted a guidebook for the development of national biodiversity strategies and action plans based on my work assisting national planning teams. Guidebook was distributed at the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in May 98. Assisted national strategy development on 11 missions to nine countries between 1997 and 2001 including Ethiopia where the planning process was led by the National Biodiversity Institute. The Institute has an incredible collection of germ plasma for crop varieties. Institute has pictures of Vavilov of Russia being escorted around Ethiopia by a young Haile Selassie.
I assisted int he revision of the NBSAP in 2005 — employed by UNDP.
